Dr. Christie is an experienced Family Physician. He has been certified by the Canadian College of Family Physicians since 2006 and opened the Gentle Procedures NB clinic in 2016.
Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Hospital Care, OR Assisting, Sports Medicine and Nursing Home Care have all been part of Dr. Christie’s busy medical practice. He currently has a special focus in circumcision and vasectomy.
Dr. Christie is on Faculty at Dalhousie University as an Associate Professor in the Department of Family Medicine. He has been teaching medical students and resident doctors for over 10 years. Balancing the demands of a busy medical practice with academic and charitable activities has always been a priority.
Born in Halifax, Dr. Christie grew up in Fredericton, New Brunswick. He then went on to graduate from Saint Francis Xavier University, and The University of New Brunswick, before attending Dalhousie University for Medical School and his Family Medicine Residency training.
Dr. Christie is married to his high school sweetheart, Laura who runs the Gentle Procedures Clinic with him, and together they have three awesome children.
When not occupied with work or family, Dr. Christie can be found coaching or playing basketball, running, traveling, or playing guitar.
Circumcision and No-Needle No-Scalpel Vasectomy are significant areas of focus in Dr. Christie’s current practice.
He has undergone extensive training with Dr. Neil Pollock, a foremost authority in these procedures.
With his experience and background, he has chosen to offer Pollock Technique™ circumcision with its four-step pain control protocol at his NB clinic serving the Maritimes.
